Grocery Gift Cards
The Friends of the Young Canadians use the grocery certificate program to raise funds each year. There is no charge to our customers; you simply need to purchase gift cards for the same value. (ie. $100 = $100 Grocery Card).
All orders are made online. Please place your orders through our gift card form. Select the cards you would like to purchase and fill out your name and the name of the TYC student you are supporting. When you submit your form, we will receive your online order and you will be taken to the PayPal site where you can purchase your cards with your PayPal account or a credit card. Please note that we are unable to accept any other form of payment for the grocery cards.
Due to high demand, we are planning to continue the Safeway cards after Dec 31. Please be advised that Sobeys/Safeway changes the program at that time and the earnings shift from 8% to 5%.
Grocery Cards will be distributed weekly, on Saturday. Here is an example of how we will break up the buying periods:
- Cards purchased from Nov 5-11 will be distributed on Saturday Nov 18
- Cards purchased from Nov 12-18 will be distributed on Saturday Nov 25… and so on.
Cards will be sent home with students unless otherwise specified.
Thank you for supporting the Young Canadians Program!

If you live out of town and aren't able to buy products, you have the option of making a direct donation, which can go towards the student you'd like to support.
Do you know of a great product that we could offer for a future fundraiser?
Let us know! We like to buy direct from the vendors if possible.
